On Easter morning, Peter and the other disciple, perhaps John, left the empty tomb not understanding what had happened. Mary sat outside the tomb and looked in the tomb all while she wept. Understanding and then receiving the gift of resurrection into one's life typically does not just happen immediately, but is a process, often a long process. The Psalmist used the phrase in describing his/her/their relationship to God: "Become my salvation". For most of us, receiving God's gift of salvation is a life-long process, but like all processes it too is a process that has a beginning. Understanding our need for salvation might be that beginning place.
