The next parable told by Jesus and included in Matthew's gospel is "the Parable of the Ten Bridesmaids". This parable focuses on preparedness. Often this tale of preparedness is connected to the end f our lives and whether we ar ready to enter God's kingdom fully. While end of life preparedness is essential, I think this parable also challenges us to consider how ready we are to encounter the presence and work of God and God's Spirit each day. Are we people ready to encounter God in each moment of each day?
