In this passage Paul wants to assure us that while the law has limitations, the law is a gift and of great benefit to us. Can you imagine a world without laws? We can, and most likely what we imagine is not a pretty picture. Laws are essential, but laws have limitations. Laws do not hold the power of love and grace. Paul hopes that as followers of Jesus we will develop a balanced respect for the importance of law while truly trusting in the power of grace. How can we live out this understanding of law and grace in our daily lives?
