Friendships are what give life meaning. FPC believes that people aren’t just looking for a friendly church; they are looking for a church where they can make friends. All our church groups welcome newcomers. Here’s a sampling of groups for fellowship and support. For more information please contact the church at

The Well women’s group - Women’s ministry at FPC is called “The Well.” This is a group that is open to all women of all ages and their friends. We have four events per year, including a women’s retreat in the fall. Events range from “Chick Flick Night” to one day mission trips to Bible Study. Within the women’s ministry are 3 small groups and a strictly fellowship group that are explained below.
Sisters of Deborah – This women’s small group is open to anyone, meeting once a month on the third Tuesday at 6 PM. They participate in Bible study, make soup for the food pantry and hold fellowship activities.
Sisters of Martha – This women’s small group meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 10:30 AM for fellowship, study and service.
Lydia’s Group - This women’s small group meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 1:30 PM for fellowship, Bible study and service.
Outdoor Girls hiking group - Weekly hiking and snowshoeing outings.
Strong Women Exercise Group – Meeting each Tuesday and Thursday from 11:00-12:00 p.m., Strong Women uses low impact exercises to help strengthen and increase agility.
Saintly Sinners women’s lunch group – On the fourth Wednesday of each month, we have a group of women that gather for lunch at one of the local restaurants. They dine and gather to deepen friendships. We would love to have you participate.
Tuesday Morning men’s breakfast - This group of six to eight men meets each Tuesday morning (7:00 a.m.) at the Patio Pancake for breakfast and Bible study. More men always welcome.
Wednesday Morning men’s breakfast – This is a larger gathering of men that meets each Wednesday morning (7:00 a.m.) at the Patio Pancake for breakfast and a brief devotional. More men always welcome
Caregiver Support Group - Sometimes life is hard, especially when you’re caring for a loved one who is sick or incapacitated in some way. Where will you find strength in these difficult times? The Caregiver Support Group provides a safe place to share your burden. Meets every other week.
Progressive Dinner - A truly mobile experience of great food and conversation held annually.
4th of July Ice Cream Social - Come watch the fireworks from the best location in town. Free ice cream included.
Mission trips – These annual, multi-day trips give adults the opportunity to put their faith into action.
Al-Anon group (Tuesday) – Struggling with an alcoholic family member? This group can offer support. Each Tuesday from 12:00-1:00 p.m.
Al-Anon group (Friday) - Struggling with an alcoholic family member? This group can offer support. Each Friday from 6:00-7:00 p.m.
Alcoholics Anonymous Group (Friday) - A support group for those struggling with alcohol addiction. Each Friday from 7:30-8:30 p.m.
Weight Watchers – An education and support group for those looking to lose weight and learn new nutritional and healthy habits. Each Wednesday. Weigh-in’s start at 4:30 p.m. Meeting begins at 5:30 p.m.
Educational Opportunities
Sunday morning discussion group – Each Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. all interested adults get together to discuss a wide variety of topics. It could be a Bible study or a DVD based discussion. Provocative, diverse and often lively, this venue is for those looking to go deeper.
Advent Study Lunches – Advent, the four weeks leading up to Christmas, is a great time to explore your faith. We study a variety of topics and a free (and tasty!) lunch is always included.
Lenten Study Lunches - Lent is the six weeks leading up to Easter and is one of the holiest times on the Christian calendar as well as a great time to deepen your faith. We study a variety of topics and a free (and tasty) lunch is always included.
Newcomer Orientation Class – For those who are new or fairly new to the First Presbyterian Church. This two session class offers a brief orientation to the Christian faith and to the vision, mission and values of FPC. Information for those interested in church membership is also provided.
Thursday Bible Study -Two classes offered each Thursday at 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m.
